- 10/26- Upper and lower elementary students studied photos of parrots and toucans. They did a practice drawing and then transferred it to a piece of watercolor paper. The drawing was outlined with a sharpie marker. Next week it will be painted with watercolors.
- 10/12- Lower and upper elementary students created a crayon drawing with patterns and many colors. They painted over the paper with black tempera.
- 10/13- Extended day students explored finger painting.
- 10/19- Lower and upper elementary students scratched through the black paint to create a colorful drawing.
- 10/20-Extended day students learned about shapes. They cut out shapes from last week’s painted paper and glued them on construction paper for a collage.
- 10/6: Extended day students practiced drawing branches from a real branch. They drew branches on their watercolor of sky and groups from last week. They learned about using Elmer’s glue and the "glue song". Students practiced by gluing shapes on another piece of paper. If the glue oozed out they learned it was too much glue but could be wiped off with a tissue. The last step was to glue their leaves on the "sky and branches" paper for the completed collage.
- 10/5- Lower elementary students continued on charcoal drawings. We began by doing warm of contour drawings of different objects. They were to draw with their eyes and not look at the paper. Students then chose an object to draw using white charcoal.
- 10/5- Upper elementary students also continued on charcoal drawings. We began by doing warm of contour drawings of different objects. They were to draw with their eyes and not look at the paper. Students then chose an object to draw using white charcoal.
- 9/21- Lower Elementary: Students created a realistic self-portrait with oil pastels.
- 9/21- Upper Elementary: Students began a realistic self-portrait with charcoal.
- 9/22- Extended Day: Students learned how to mix yellow and red watercolors to make orange. They drew leaves with oil pastels and painted them in with different shades of orange.
- 9/14- Lower Elementary: Students completed their Picasso portraits using oil pastels.
- 9/14- Upper Elementary: Students also completed their Picasso portraits using oil pastels.
- 9/15- Extended Day: Students created a full size portrait of me. Their paper (8"x 24") was folded into six sections to help with proportion. Oil pastels were used to complete the drawings.
