Welcome to Anchorage Montessori
Anchorage Montessori School (AMS) was founded in 1977 and began its affiliation with the American Montessori Society in 1978. Our school currently offers learning opportunities and programs for Toddlers (19mos - 3yrs), Primary (3yrs - 6yrs), Elementary I (6yrs - 9yrs), and Elementary II (9yrs - 12yrs).
AMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation governed by an 11 member Board of Directors. The Board members are elected representatives form the AMS community and the Municipality of Anchorage at large. Administrative responsibility rests with the Executive Director and adherence with Montessori philosophy is monitored by the respective Program Directors for Primary/Toddler & Elementary.
