Hello Everyone-

I offer my most sincere gratitude to all of you for participating in the Anchorage Montessori School (AMS) 40th Anniversary Celebration.

Please enjoy the video presented at the event: “Celebrate the past, Honor the Present, Embrace the Future” by visiting this page.

The generosity of many helped to make this celebration a success.  If you would like to make a donation please click on the Pledge Link.

It was a memorable event and made so by you being there. Thank you to each family, individual, and sponsor who attended.

There was representation from all the successful decades of this fine school’s existence, from the founders to today’s families. This was no better illustrated than by the Hensley family who have and both children and grandchildren attend AMS.

In addition, the presence of our generous donors and vendors increased the diversity of the participants and added another level of community connection.

All in all, longstanding friendships were renewed and new connections established. The conversations were ongoing and the dancing was fun! The smiles were contagious and a festive atmosphere bathed the evening.

AMS Newsletter_Spring 2018

Dr. Maria Montessori’s system of education is both a philosophy of child growth and a rationale for guiding such growth, which has been consistently successful since 1907. This system is based on the child’s developmental need for freedom with limits and uses a carefully prepared environment. The prepared environment guarantees exposure to materials and experiences through which the child develops intelligence as well as physical and psychological abilities. The Montessori method is designed to take full advantage of the unique ability of young children to develop their own capabilities through self-motivation. Learn More
